Lately, I’ve been surrounded by thoughts. Do we create them, or do they float in a vast sea, waiting for us to catch them with our experiences and vibrations? Over time, these thoughts root themselves in us, and we start to believe they are who we are. But am I really my thoughts? Can I separate myself from them? Can I keep only those that guide me to my goals? How crucial is it to control them? Do thoughts shape our thinking, and does thinking shape our lives? Does the universe listen to our thoughts? Do we attract what we think? So many questions.
One day, while gazing at my favorite Čiurlionis paintings, two caught my eye: “Thought” and “Ship. Clouds.” I saw the ships – clouds as flying thoughts, reflections of ourselves that we catch. The painting “Thought” brought a revelation: we need to filter these thoughts carefully, observe them from a distance, and keep only those that uplift and propel us forward.
Reading Matthew McConaughey’s “Greenlights,” I noticed how his thoughts led to actions and shaped his personality. Sometimes, it’s essential to step away from the familiar, leave our comfort zone, to welcome a fresh wave of thoughts and let go of what’s unnecessary. Keep only what moves us forward.
Finally, while listening to a Shaolin monk, I heard a thought that summed everything up:
“Watch your thoughts, they become words. Watch your words, they become actions. Watch your actions, they become habits. Watch your habits, they become character. Watch your character, it becomes your destiny.”
This sculpture embodies that idea. With our thoughts, we can either wither or bloom.
