"I believe that the answers can be found in nature." - Goda Aleknė
Goda Alekne is an artist that creates hand-built ceramic, stoneware sculptures. Each sculpture she creates serves as an invitation for individuals to reconnect with their own nature, to listen to their inner selves, and to find beauty and meaning in every irregularity, curve, and shape – not just within the artwork but also within their own lives.

"In nature, I discover the perfect balance between order and chaos, where harmony thrives." - Goda Aleknė
Working with clay, a material sourced from nature, she acknowledges its initial unattractiveness – cold, wet, and formless. However, through hands and energy, she unveils the clay’s hidden beauty, giving it shape and imbuing it with emotion.
Drawing inspiration from nature’s vibrant sunsets, starry skies, powerful storms, and serene snowfalls, She sees reflections of life’s highs and lows, profound joy, and heart-wrenching sadness. Embracing the philosophy that each sculpture is unique and unrepeatable, just like each person, ALEKNE creations celebrate the individuality and beauty that resides within all of us.
For over 10 years, she immersed herself in the world of ceramics, learning not within the walls of a traditional art school but under the mentorship of a visionary artist, who not only taught her the technical aspects of the craft but also the importance of self-expression and emotional connection.

Black ceramics, one of the oldest forms of clay firing, has been known since Neolithic times but is now a dying art. The process involves slowly raising the temperature of a kiln buried in the ground to extract moisture before adding firewood to start the fuming process. As the clay absorbs smoke and fines, its pores close, resulting in a unique and unrepeatable black finish. This process takes days and is subject to the unpredictable elements of nature, making each creation a one-of-a-kind piece.
